Boatshed Newport is based at the gateway to the Ocean State, and is being run by Rob and Ali Bolt. We are proud to be involved with boating in such a prestigious and historic sailing area as Newport, Rhode Island...the sailing capital of America.

Both of us have been involved in one way or another with boats over the years. Ali started sailing with her famliy on the beautiful island of Nantucket. Rob was a late starter, as he actually comes form Birmingham, in the middle of England, and didn't become a regular on the water until he moved to Portsmouth, on the south coast of England in 1999.

Ali and Rob met one night in June 2007, when Rob was out with fellow crewmembers from the 1930 built classic motor-sailer, Atlantide, which was in town for the summer. Ali was also out with friends, and the rest, as they say, is history! We married in Mystic Seaport, Connecticut, in June 2009.

We met Neil and Mandy Chapman, who founded Boatshed in 1999, later in 2009, and instantly saw the strength and integrity of the company in its approach to buyers and sellers of boats, and also in its advanced software. Having then spoken to a few other Boatshed Business owners, and liking even more what he was hearing, Rob left Atlantide, and is now happily running Boatshed Newport, together with Ali.

When selling your boat, Boatsheds' proven approach sees an agent come to your boat, and take up to 80 photographs. These photgraphs are then uploaded to our website, along with an honest appraisal of your boat, and are seen across every Boatshed website worldwide. We will then accompany all viewings, and handle every aspect of the sale, from the paperwork, to all negotiations, offering advise and support to vendor and buyer alike.
